The Festival of Trees

The holiday season is filled with parties, decorations, delicious food, and a general sense that something special is about to happen. That festive mood also fills many of us with a feeling that we need to do more to help the less fortunate. The Festival of Trees brings all those elements together in a cause that truly benefits those in need.

On November 19 & 20, 2010, a gingerbread village, Santa's North Pole Playland, and a forest of decorated holiday trees and wreaths fill the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center with a festive atmosphere. Center stage entertainment and holiday treats round out the festivities making it the premier holiday kick-off event of the season.

In addition to providing a fun, family event, the Festival of Trees also directly benefits those in need. All proceeds go towards helping Behavior Management Systems provide services, regardless of ability to pay in the following areas:

  • children with serious emotional or behavioral problems
  • adults with major mental illness
  • suicide prevention
  • crisis stabilization
  • a substance abuse treatment and prevention program for pregnant women and women with children
